Visible tensioned cords
Rooflight blinds will have multiple tensioned cords that run from one end of the window opening to the other. These cords will be visible whan the blind is opened and are required for support of the fabric.
If you would prefer a system with less visible cords we have the excellent TrueVue blinds system and Umbras Kurolok Systems.
Visible fabric bowing
Rooflight blinds can have a tendancy for the fabric to sag slightly across the length of the fabric. This is simply gravity doing what it does. The larger the blind the more pronounced this effect can be. For this reason it better to have rooflight blinds fitted away from the bottom edge of the window reveal.
On rooflight windows we can reduce this effect by adding optional side channels that help to support the fabric and reduce the bowing effect.
Visible gaps and light bleed
Standard cellular rooflight blinds have a gap down the sides of the blind that can lead to excess light leakage. This is more prominent when a blackout fabric is used and when the inside of the reveal is not straight.
We can reduce this effect significantly by adding optional side channels that give the blind a much more fitted look and reduce any light creeping around the edges.
