Innovative solutions to hide window blinds in any window, gable and skylight.

Blindspace® have developed and patented an innovative solution to hide window blinds using recessed aluminium backboxes and detachable covers to conceal blinds in windows, gables and skylights.

Their solutions enables you to install recessed boxes and prepare with wires during construction, while blinds including side channels for blackout blinds or flyscreens can be installed at a later date once the construction, plastering and decorating is finished.

Home owners can access built-in Blindspace® boxes and chose to install one or multiple concealed blinds, including blackouts and insect screens, in windows, gables or skylights at any time.

Interior designers can design windows with Blindspace® covers installed flush with the ceiling, painted with emulsion paint to match the surounding or faced with another material such as timber.

Architects can access drawings, technical specifications and design consultations to easily design and future-proof buildings with recessed blindspace boxes for a contemporary look.

Glazing companies can offer clients that are buying bifolding doors, sliding doors, roof lanterns, skylights and other larger glazing areas the added value of not worrying about blinds.

Blind specialists can buy recessed boxes of any size and have them delivered often within two weeks. Blindspace® boxes can be pre-cut with end-caps mounted, or delivered in 3 m lengths to be cut at site.

Property developers can future-proof buildings enabling home owners or tenants to install and replace concealed blinds to work with their home automation system.

When should I consider Blindspace®?

Ideally Blindspace® should be considered at the design stage. Talk to your architect or builder and explain that you would like your blinds hidden.

The Blindspace® system should be fitted at the point of construction, the box can be plastered up to and painting to match the ceiling colour. Electric cables can be brought into the boxes so that the blinds can be fitted after all the other building work is completed.

what is a concealed blind

What is a concealed blind?

When blinds are fully concealed they can be seen from below showing only the underside of the bottom bar when the blind is not in use.

To fully conceal blinds, builder have traditionally made a bespoke cavity for the blinds that would then be 'boxed in' using plasterboard or similar.

There is now the option to use Blindspace® to fully conceal blinds in any window, gable and skylight. This solution allows access to the blinds after installation.

what blinds can blindspace conceal

What blinds can I conceal

The most common type of blind to have concealed is the roller blind, followed by the honeycomb/pleated blind.

Both types can be electrically set up as a stand-alone installation or part of a home automation system.

The space needed to conceal the blinds depends on the width and height of the glazing area, the motor type and the fabric chosen.
