care instructions for your blinds

Vertical Blinds

General care

Lightly dust using a feather duster or carefully vacuum louvres using the upholstery attachment of your vacuum cleaner.

Depending on the fabric of your blind there are two cleaning methods; either wipe clean by hand or machine wash.

Important - not all louvres are washable. Please check with Brite Blinds if you are unsure.

General instructions

Remove the chain at the bottom of the louvres and slide out the weights. Then unhook the louvres from the headrail.

To wipe clean

On a flat surface lay the louvres individually then using water and a mild detergent gently wipe each louvre from end to end with a dampened cloth. Be careful not to rub too hard and do not spot clean.

To machine wash

Lay the louvres on top of each other at intervals so that the top of each louvre sits just below the top of the previous louvre. Then roll the louvres tightly keeping them in line and ensuring there are no creases.
Tie the roll firmly to hold it together, be careful to prevent any creasing and place into a pillowcase. Knot the pillowcase tightly to secure the rolled louvres.

Using a mild detergent on the woollens programme at no more than 40 degrees wash one roll at a time. Do not allow the machine to run a spin cycle. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron.

Stand the washed roll on its end to allow excess water to drain away then untie the roll and hang back on the headrail to drip-dry naturally. Replace the weights while the louvres are drying. And then re-attach the chains.
